Bougainville's First "Innovation Hub" Now Open in Buka!

Today saw Bougainville launch its first ever Innovation Hub. This center, located near the Polytchnic in Hahela, Buka, aims to improve digital and finaincial literacy, increase entrepenurship, and to provide a learning space to underserved commnities and groups, such as women and youth. This center is the first of three which have been developed with the support of the ABG, UNDP, and Japan. Arawa and Buin will also see Innovations Hubs open in the coming months.

The opening follows the signing of a memorandium of understanding between the ABG and UNDP. The President of the Autonomous Bougainville Government, Hon. Ishmael Toroama; the Ambassador of Japan to Papua New Guinea, H.E. Nobuyuki Watanabe; and UNDP Resident Representative, Mr. Nicholas Booth attended the opening ceremony.
